The Handmaid’s Tale & The Testaments

After reading The Handmaid’s Tale and its sequel The Testaments, I created a pair of conceptual book covers as a visual homage to the stories.

Designed using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, the covers use simplified silhouettes, dramatic lighting, and restrained colour palettes to reflect the atmosphere of each novel — the deep red of Gilead’s regime and the striking green associated with resistance. The result is a minimal yet evocative set that pairs clean typography with bold, symbolic imagery.
